Did you see Silent Witness on Monday 20th January? It started with passengers on Princes Risborough Platform 4 (CPRRA’s platform at Princes Risborough), and went on to show a body on a railway line, which was all shot on the line in Chinnor at the end of last year, earning CPRRA some welcome extra income.
Have you got your tickets booked for Mothering Sunday – 22nd March? As we go to press there may be a few Cream Tea places still available, but you can still book tickets to travel on any of the trains that day, and even if you can’t get a Cream Tea, the Cambrian Café will be open on Chinnor Station serving it’s usual range of rolls and cakes, and serving both hot and cold drinks.
We currently have a volunteer vacancy for a Group Bookings Organiser. This is an interesting and rewarding position for someone who enjoys contact with the public and the satisfaction of seeing a job through to a conclusion. The person appointed will promote group bookings to new and existing customers, respond to incoming enquiries by phone (mobile supplied), email or letter, arrange dates with clients, invoice and collect payment and ensure the event runs smoothly. This would suit someone who has excellent communication skills, pays attention to detail and is prepared to devote a number of hours during the week - either working from home or elsewhere, to ensure that this important function is successful.
We also have a volunteer vacancy for a Publications Manager. This is an interesting position involving the production and printing of various railway publications. These include the timetable, Santa leaflets and the visitor guidebook. The person appointed will also be responsible for the co-ordination and production of the ‘Watlington Flyer’ magazine in conjunction with the magazine editor, along with the distribution and posting of each edition. Applicants should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Publisher or equivalent.
