FRIENDS OF ST ANDREW’S CHURCH : LUNCHTIME CONCERT : FRIDAY 1 MAY : 12:30-1:15PM

Wendlebury Winds, formed in 1990, is a group of talented players of wind instruments – flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and horn. Named after the Oxfordshire village where it originally met for rehearsals, it performs music written for various combinations of these instruments with a repertoire ranging from the 17th to the 21st century, including original works written specially for the group. Following its inaugural concert in 1992 more than 100 concerts have been given throughout Oxfordshire and neighbouring counties, as well as Birmingham, Essex, Hertfordshire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Powys, Staffordshire, and the South of France. All the concerts have been in aid of charities. For the concert in Chinnor the group has chosen to support “Soundabout”, an organisation which uses music, sound and silence to help learning-disabled people with complex support needs to thrive.
